Ian became involved with the charity in 2007, almost by accident. Ian & Lynette had a holiday home in North Wales & made several visits to Bodafon Farm Park to see the owls with their family.
In 2009, Ian homed his first owl from the charity; a Barn owl named Pebbles & so began the Lancashire Hub. Ian became a Trustee of the charity in 2011, followed by Lynette who became a Trustee in 2013.
Ian began attending various events to fundraise for the charity & Pebbles proved very popular. Ian was soon being invited to bring him along to local nurseries, schools, community groups etc.
Our visits are individually tailored to suit & range from perhaps an hour or two when visiting groups such as The Guiding & Scouting families etc. or to a day or two when visiting schools & nurseries etc. Many groups we’ve visited re-book for more visits! As the interest & popularity in our owl visits has grown unbelievably (no doubt because they are beautiful creatures!) we’ve expanded our volunteer base. Currently we have around 15 volunteers & around 20 birds!
