Striped Owl

Home E Owl E Pedro

Poor old Pedro had a really rough start in life. As a tiny chick he fell ill and we were pretty sure he would die.

However we wanted to give the poor little fellow a chance with medicine every two hours and several weeks of TLC we pulled him through the worst but he was a sorry sight as most of his brand new feathers had fallen out! Still, Pedro is a little toughie so after a few more weeks he was fighting fit and grew into the gorgeous bird you see today.

He still likes a bit of a fuss and eagerly takes some of his food from the hand. He likes visitors, especially if it means a walk round the sanctuary!
