Kookaburra Facts
Kookaburra
It is a solitary bird, occurring in any type of country with trees and shrubs where it can hunt its food. It is also found in city parks and gardens. It is particularly fond of hunting poisonous snakes, one of the reasons for its popularity in Australia.
The Kookaburra is very aggressive in defence of its young during the rearing period but otherwise is an intriguing and inquisitive bird.
Its only unpleasant characteristic is its piercing, weird, laughing cry!
She loves games and if you talk to her she will usually respond with her manic cry!
