The Borrowers

We were delighted a few years ago when we acquired a pair of Burrowing Owls. We waited in keen anticipation for signs of breeding activity but to no avail. We finally had the pair DNA tested and found we had a pair of… boys! However last year we found someone with three girls and a swop was arranged!

Now we can introduce you to the Clock family! Pod, Mrs. Clock (who is often in the nursery!) and Arrietty. Another little one is with the Lancashire Hub and we are certain more are on the way!!

Their antics around their aviary will amuse you as will their habit of standing on one leg. You’ll be surprised how many visitors are worried at why we have a family of one-legged owls!
