Hi Folks!
I’m really excited this morning. Jenni and Bill are taking me to see some children from Salford! They are staying at a holiday camp at Prestatyn.
Teddy went there last week with Conley and Kilmousky and he said he really enjoyed himself. Teddy is a Tengmalm’s Owl. He is almost as small as me and is one of my best friends. His kind of owl comes from the north of Europe where the weather is very cold and snowy. You can also find them in Canada. They have lots of feathers on their legs and feet to help keep them warm. Because my kind of owl comes from really warm places like India, we don’t bother much with feathers on our feet – too hot by half!
Teddy has very bright yellow eyes and he always looks surprised – though he says he isn’t. He says he has seen and heard so much from all of us owls at Bodafon that nothing would surprise him anymore!
Jenni is maybe going to see all my friends in Lancashire this weekend so I have lots of messages to give her. It’s a good idea to take advantage of visits that the people make because it is generally quicker than using the Evening Hoot which can be quite slow, especially at this time of year when lots of the wild owls are so busy feeding their babies. They tend to hoot with their mouths full which (apart from being bad manners) does sometimes get my messages muddled!
Talk again soon
Jenni
