Hello everyone!

I’ve heard from the people in Llandudno that it has been very cold there over the last few days with snow on the mountains. Mac tells me that this has brought a lot of birds that spend the winter down on the coast hurrying into Bodafon. I told you that one or two Curlews had arrived and now Mac has counted about 25 on the bottom fields. He went to talk to them and found out that some spend the summer on the hills in Wales but quite a few come South from Scotland and even across the North Sea from Norway and Sweden! you can find out more about them by going to

Mac also heard from a Jackdaw that lots of Choughs have come down from the snowy mountains to the cliffs around Llandudno. They find it very hard to find food in the snow as they dig their long red beaks into the ground to search for grubs and worms. They can’t do this when it’s freezing. you can find more about choughs at

Jenni tells me you can see them all year round at South Stack on Anglesey or at Llechwedd Slate Caverns Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Well, that’s all for now,

Otis
